Education/Background: Mr. Kovata is a 1994, cum laude, graduate of Loyola University School of Law, where he was also a published member of the Loyola Law Review. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in 1991, summa cum laude, from Loyola University-New Orleans.

Since joining the firm in 1994, Mr. Kovata has practiced healthcare law on an exclusive basis. Mr. Kovata's practice has focused primarily on healthcare fraud, abuse and compliance, provider reimbursement, provider licensure and Medicare/Medicaid participation, administrative appeals, and contractual issues.

Mr. Kovata is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the American Bar Association and its health law section, as well as the American Health Lawyers Association.
