Education/Background: Mr. Knight obtained his undergraduate degree (B.S.) from Nicholls State University and his law degree (J.D.) from Louisiana State University. He served for two years as a law clerk to the Honorable Walter I. Lanier, Jr. of the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeals, where he assisted the Court in drafting opinions on a broad base of legal issues.

Mr. Knight joined Sullivan, Stolier & Resor, APLC in 1993. Since joining Sullivan, Stolier, & Resor APLC, Mr. Knight has primarily worked in the areas of healthcare business formation, transactions and finance, physician contracting, managed care contracting, healthcare fraud and abuse, and provider licensure and certification.

During the last three years, Mr. Knight has devoted particular attention to business and healthcare transactions and has handled several multi-million dollar hospital and nursing home sales and acquisitions. Several of those acquisitions involved obtaining the approval of the Louisiana Attorney General for the sale of non-profit hospitals as required under Louisiana law.

  
 

 
 

 

Mr. Knight has also formed numerous new healthcare entities, including several nursing homes, home health agencies, ambulatory surgical centers, medical suppliers, group medical practices, rehabilitation agencies, IPAs, and hospitals, including long-term care and rehabilitation hospitals. This formation includes preparing and filing the documentation required by Medicare, Medicaid, JCAHO, the DEA and numerous other state regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies to obtain licensure, certification and accreditation of the new healthcare business.
